Deputy Press Corps Director: Ana Beatriz Duarte
Committee Description:
The Press Corps is an enjoyable and welcoming branch of MUN that plays a major role in delivering every message and presenting the conference's successes. As a Press Corps reporter, students represent a national or international news agency instead of a country. During the conference, the reporters will inform the conference about the actions in the committees through their articles, which will be sent to the Press Corps Director and to the Deputy Press Director. Unlike other delegates, the Press Corps does not have a specific agenda; instead reporters choose committee topics on which they want to report. It is engaging work, and it is fun. Additionally, Press Corps members will be able to interview delegates and interfere in committees' crises.
The press is an essential element of a conference, and reveals a diversity of perspectives. Worldwide, the press serves as the primary link between the United Nations and the global population. At YOUMUN, the Press Corps Delegates are responsible for maintaining this link between the delegates and actions of different committees. Finally, given the vital role of the press in the work of the United Nations, each delegate will write as their assigned news agency, following their own bias.
