Secretariat Applications
YOUMUN Secretariat members have an active participation in the crafting of the conference and engage in tasks ranging from logistics to the academic supervision of chairs and delegates. Below is a brief outline of the role of each member of the Secretariat:
Chief Operations Officer: The COO is responsible for the running of the conference logistically, overseeing the conference's management and communication, working alongside a deputy member to complete organisational tasks and assisting the Secretary-General in coordinating the conference.
Under-Secretary-General of General Assemblies: The USG of GAs is responsible for the organisation and functionality of the General Assemblies. In addition to being involved in the selection of chairs, some other tasks include giving feedback to Study Guides, ensuring that deadlines are met and reporting to the Secretary-General.
Under-Secretary-General of Special Committees: The USG of Special Committees is responsible for the organisation and functionality of the Special Committees. In addition to being involved in the selection of chairs, some other tasks include giving feedback to Study Guides, ensuring that deadlines are met and reporting to the Secretary-General.
Under-Secretary-General of International Delegations: Focused on the conference's outreach, the USG of International Delegations' work is directed towards maximising the global participation of delegates in YOUMUN by communicating with prospective participating schools' officials and proposing strategies to bolster the conference's scope. Additionally, the USG of International Delegations' is also in charge of crafting workshops and contacting international speakers for specialist lectures.
Under-Secretary-General of Domestic Delegations: Focused on the conference's outreach, the USG of Domestic Delegations' work is directed towards maximising the domestic participation of delegates in YOUMUN by communicating with prospective participating schools' officials and proposing strategies to bolster the conference's scope in Brazil. Additionally, the USG of International Delegations' is also in charge of crafting workshops and contacting domestic speakers for specialist lectures.
Press Corps Director: The Press Corps Director focuses on the conference's media, advertising and journalism sectors, working on the conference's design and social media platforms as well as building an effective press team to interact with committee debates.

YOUMUN Chairs are highly engaged with the proposal of captivating committee topics and frameworks, decision-making at a committee level and debate moderation. Each committee at YOUMUN is composed of a dias of head and vice-chairs.
Head Chair: Besides being in charge of logistical aspects of the conference at committee-level, the Head Chair works closely with the Academic Secretariat and their Vice-Chair to produce a study guide, moderate caucuses, give feedback on position papers and assist delegates to maximise their performance.
